Dubai, UAE, January 12,
2004: The Middle East’s largest
poultry project - Al-Watania Poultry - has received yet another accolade
recognising its ongoing commitment to the highest quality standards.
Al-Watania Poultry has
earned the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Certification after meeting the
stringent quality control measures of a unique system called Hazards Analysis
Critical Control Point (HACCP).
Originally created in 1969,
HACCP was developed by NASA scientists to prevent astronauts suffering food
poisoning in space.
The programme assesses
potential food hazards, identifies where these hazards may occur, highlights
the stages in food production that are vital for food safety and helps
implement effective controls with suitable monitoring procedures. The HACCP
system is now mandated by most US and European food control authorities.
“Al-Watania Poultry has always been committed to achieving the
highest levels of quality and product integrity”, says xyz. “We demonstrated this
when we became the first
poultry project in the Middle East to obtain ISO 9002 certification, and we
will continue to do so. Everything from our hatcheries to the processed food
manufacturing units were inspected and double-checked in order to obtain the
SQF2000/HACCP certification.”
He added: “Consumers will
continue to choose our top quality products with complete confidence and peace
of mind”.
To ensure the highest levels
of product quality and conformity with Islamic Sharia’a laws, Al-Watania has
invested heavily in transforming its production plant in Al Qassim into a fully
integrated, state-of-the-art facility. Al-Watania guarantees that its products
are fully ‘Halal’.
